Turfway Park RaceTrack racing dates for the 2011 are:

Thus, it can be said that Turfway Park RaceTrack offers year-round thoroughbred racing.  Turfway is located in Florence, Kentucky and Turfway Park sits near the northern border close to Ohio and Indiana.  Florence has a population of 27,000, and relies on large manufacturing and commercial business to thrive.

Turfway Park RaceTrack is located just 10 minutes from downtown.  Turfway Park RaceTrack offers exciting horse racing action and has a clubhouse that offers a quality dining experience.  The track opened in 1959 as Latonia Race Course and was renamed in 1986.  Some of the large races Turfway Park holds are the $500,000 Lane's End Stakes and the $350,000 Kentucky Cup Classic Handicap.

Turfway Park RaceTrack has a main track (Polytrack) that is 1-mile oval.  Length of stretch from last turn to finish line at Turfway Park is 970 feet.  In addtion, Turfway Park Racetrack is composited of polytrack

In 1997, Churchill Downs joined forces with three investors to purchase Turfway Park at an auction for $11 million.  And things began to turn around in 1998, when live racing resumed with a seven-day schedule, running in conjunction with Turfway's September meet.

In 1999, Kentucky Downs experienced another increase of 13.5 percent in betting and Turfway Park RaceTrack still enjoyed holding races on weekends.

In September 2005, Turfway Park RaceTrack became the first North American racetrack to replace their dirt track with a Polytrack racing surface.  Polytrack is a mixture of synthetic and natural materials that drains water quickly, remains consistent no matter what the weather and is proving to be safer for both horses and riders.
