How Does Dutching Work
How would you like a quick and easy method of backing two horses in a race to
achieve a certain return should either one of them win?
Dutching is a quick and easy method that does not require any calculations of any kind. All you need to know is the price available about the two horses in question.
Backing two horses in a race has amazing benefits. First of all, losing runs can be dramatically shortened. Secondly, making any sort of profit - even a small one - is far better than losing.
For example, if you want to back two horses and the odds on offer are 4/1 and 6/1 respectively. Say you placed $2 on the 4/1 horse $1.42 on th 6/1 horse, your total outlay would be $3.42, but if either one won you would get a return of approximately $10 - thats just over 65% profit!
However, please remember, that this technique only works if you take the odds on offer. If you place a bet without taking the odds and your selections get backed in, you may not get the required return. The rule of thumb with this type of betting is therefore to take the odds available without exception.
